The Child, portrait of Macha Makeïeff, is a sculpture paying homage to Macha Makeïeff, a French visual artist, theatre director, and filmmaker. Keen to capture Macha Makeïeff's childhood memories,
Joseph Arzoumanov imagined a treasure hunt in the alleys of Marseille. The Child and his little brother set off in search of relics: buttons, bones and pebbles are placed in a precious box engraved with occult symbols.
Unique work
The Child, portrait by Macha Makeïeff, is a silver sculpture adorned with a gold crown set with tsavorites. Its eyes are set with rubies, and it is dressed in a gown and headdress of gold haberdashery, including silver beads also set with pink and blue sapphires and garnets.
