The Violinist

The Violinist is a sculpture belonging to the set The Saltimbanques (2024), which it forms with The Storyteller (2024). They are two joyful and courageous troubadours who travel the roads of an imaginary world in search of adventure. The body of the Violinist twists with his emotions; carried away by this wild energy, he perches on a throne, seizes his instrument, and plays a virtuosic and staccato lament, illustrating the tales of the Storyteller.
Unique work
The Violinist is a silver sculpture perched on a bronze throne adorned with inlaid silver pearls. Its body is itself set with sapphires, garnets, peridots, and topaz. It is dressed in a haberdashery outfit of gold and cotton embellished with mother-of-pearl and silver beads set with pink sapphires and rubies.
